THE WAY OF A HEALTHY SPORTS LIFE PASSES THROUGH NATURE!

The Way of a Healthy Sports Life Passes Through Nature!

Did you know that natural resource waters have a very important place in athletic health from past to present?

Galen, who lived in Pergamon in ancient Rome and was also considered the world's first sports physician, mentioned the thermal mineral treatment in some of his works that is still used today. In addition, the Romans used hot springs to treat post-war diseases in their soldiers; they also used hot groundwater for sports purposes.

Mineral water is a natural supplement for athlete health

The most important criteria affecting the performance of athletes who exercise regularly are nutrition, quality sleep and liquid intake rich in natural minerals. In this case, mineral water is an indispensable natural supplement for athlete health. Because during sports, there is a loss of elements such as calcium and sodium that the body needs. Mineral waters from natural underground sources are rich in various basic minerals, micronutrients such as calcium, bicarbonate, magnesium, sodium and some trace elements. It has been shown to have positive effects on bone health, blood pressure control and plasma lipid levels.

Mineral water consumption helps you recover quickly after exercising

In studies examining the effect of mineral water on athlete's health, the effects of natural and widely used mineral waters on the return of athletes' performance after exercises that lead to water loss were evaluated. Mineral waters with natural mineral content play an important role in acid-base balance, which determines short-term exercise capacity. Even the slightest changes in blood or tissue lead to significant metabolic consequences. Antioxidant systems are more effective in people who exercise continuously and intensively. Mineral-rich mineral water significantly accelerates the process of recovering the body's loss of fluid; it reduces the risk of fluid loss if consumed regularly and moderately, and it is also functional to restore the body's electrolyte balance. However, with the right amount of use, it is possible to increase the lactate that provides the use of sugar in the body in short-term exercise and to decrease muscle fatigue. Consumption of mineral-rich mineral water under exercise conditions has a positive effect on acid-base balance and the body having the fluid it needs. These results suggest that the exercise-related consumption of non-carbonated mineral water can be a valuable nutritional contribution to positively affect both acid-base and electrolyte balance and the healthy fluid balance of the body in healthy adults.

In our book called ‘Miracle Drink Mineral Water’, it was compiled from the study titled 'The Importance of Mineral Water in Athletic Nutrition‘ prepared by Surgeon Begüm Özüekren Kasapoğlu, Specialist of Cardiovascular Surgery.
